2024 took the IVCA to the Ostrava, the capital of Moravia-Silesia in the Czech Republic and home of the remarkable steel works at Dolni Vitkovice.

The event's offial website is here

We got of to a flying start with the Centuary Race, a scenic ride up and down the river Ostravice. Those not wishing to complete the whole distance took a leisurely riverside picnic featuring orchestral musical accopmaniament from Swing in Ostrava Hrabova The entertainment continued in the evening with beautiful folk music and dance.

We enjoyed another fine day of racing this time shorter sprints on the track. See Facebook for more coverage. The race results are here The evening's night ride was cancelled when our luck with the weather failed. The Ostravar pivo made up for it though

Our Grand Parade of historical cycles took us up the river into the city of Ostrava. Photos were taken at the town hall, lunchtime entertainments included a Japanese acrobatic performance. Later on members staged a bicycling ballet and a period fashion show from the last centuary cycling is presented.
